The world art community is celebrating the discovery of a long lost work of Italian artist Fosco J. Picchi. The work dates from the early "blue period" probrably around 1960. The painting was last displayed in the dental office of Dr. Leroy E. Berry, 180 Union St. Framingham Mass. Dr. Berry has been deceased for some years. Miraculously the painting turned up in an austere farmhouse in the rural Maine town of Bryant Pond...about 50 miles northwest of Portland. The owner of the house which she shares with a dog and four cats, realized that the painting in her attic might have historic significance and contacted authorities. Fosco's son (also Fosco Picchi) was dispatched to the weathered home to validate the painting's authenticity. Upon seeing the work Mr. Picchi stated: "Yup, that's my dad's". The painting is currently stored in a temperature and humity controlled vault awaiting arangements for a proper display. AP
